Change tracking with tables

Disclaimer: You are free to reuse it “as-is”, on your own responsibility and without any guarantee whatsoever. No rights can be derived from, successfully or unsuccessfully, completing the steps outlined below.

Change Tracking steps

  1. Create a new word-processing document and enter into it the following four pieces of content, in this order:
    • A paragraph of text (2-3 sentences – Paragraph #1).
    • A table with three rows and three columns, containing the words One through Nine in the cells of the table.
    • A paragraph of text (2-3 sentences – Paragraph #2).
    • A numbered list with 4 items, each containing a sentence of text.
  2. Save the document as [application]-original.odt, but do not exit the application. (Note that “[application]” should be replaced by the name of the application being used.)
  3. Turn on change tracking (this may be under Edit/Changes, Tools/Revisions, or another menu selection).
  4. Insert a sentence into the middle of the first paragraph of text.
  5. Delete the second row of the table.
  6. Select Paragraph #2, the first item of the numbered list, and part of the second item of the numbered list, then press Del to delete.
  7. Save the document as [application]-changes.odt, but do not exit the application.
  8. Accept all changes in the document, and save as [application]-accepted.odt.
  9. Open [application]-changes.odt in a second implementation, and cancel all changes. Does the document now appear identical to [application]-original.odt?
  10. Open [application]-changes.odt in the second implementation, and accept all changes. Does the document now appear identical to [application]-accepted.odt?
