Accessibility - Alt-text for non-text objects

Steps

  1. Step1: create a .odt document
  2. Step2: launch screen reader. e.g. JAWS
  3. Step3: insert a rectangle shape
  4. Step4: select the shape, set alternative text by GUI(better if can set long description)
  5. Step5: select the shape again, check screen reader to read the alt-text as the object name
  6. Step6: save the document as “AccAltText_xxxx.odt”

Files

Please follow the file name convention outlined in the faq. Note that the PDF files can be included as a previewing aid, but uploading the ODF files is much more important.
